Fionnphort

Fionnphort.

Fionnphort (pronounced finna-port) lies at the westermost extremity of the Ross of Mull, the long peninsula in the south-west of the island. There Caledonian MacBrayne operates the ferry to the island of Iona, where Christianity was first established in Scotland.
The Keel Row is an interesting pub only a few yards from the ferry.

The long drive from Craignure, some 40 miles (60km) makes you realise how big and remote the Isle of Mull really is. Much of the journey along a single track road takes you inland and out of sight of the sea for some distance.
